Outline:
Rotoma Forest is approximately 1300ha of mature forest surrounding the shores of Lake Rotoma in the Bay of Plenty, which is owned by the shareholders of the Rotoma No1 Incorporation. After an extensive tender process to select a harvest manager, Wood Marketing Services was selected to manage all aspects of the logging, forest roading and log marketing for Rotoma No1 Incorporation, using an open book managed sale approach.
Result:
The forest is now completely replanted. Stand selection has been undertaken with areas of ground base harvesting systems being put into clearwood regimes while cable setting will be framing. The older stands which have been high pruned will be production thinned which will start within the next 12 months.
